We brush up on the details

Freeland Painting is locally owned and operated by Painting contractors who work and live in the Greater Atlanta, Georgia area. Our residential and commercial painters are experts who take the time to get a complete understanding of the wants and needs of each and every client before beginning work on any contracted project. We follow the best practices to assure that our products and services meet – or exceed – the expectations of our clients on every painting and home renovation project we complete.

  • Do you require a deposit to get started?
No. Freeland Painting invoices in full AFTER the job is finished. We believe in you should be satisfied with the job before we ask for money.
  • What type of paint do you use and why?
We primarily use quality products from Sherwin Williams. Other brands can be substituted upon request.
  • Do you still use oil based paints and what is the primary difference between oil and water-based (acrylic, latex) paints? Benefits?
Oil-based paints have been mostly removed from the market for architectural applications. This is due to EPA regulations removing VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) in paint formulas. Oil-based paints redeeming qualities include a superior smooth look, good moisture resistance, and ultimate hardness and durability. The technology in water-based paints, also known as latex or acrylic paints have increased dramatically in recent years. Today's latex and acrylic paints exhibit excellent qualities, such as moisture resistance, mildew resistance, flexibility, color fastness, and block resistance.
  • What types of environmentally friendly options to you offer?
We suggest Sherwin Williams Harmony paint for interior wall surface applications and Emerald paint for exterior surfaces when the environment is of concern.
  • How many coats of paint are included in the quote?
For most applications, only one coat is necessary. We always put two coats on interior walls however for a deep lustrous finish.
  • What are the different kinds of paint finishes and how do I select them for each room?
Paint finish comes in three general categories and different surfaces require different finishes. Freeland Painting discusses these options during our color consultation.

Flat Finish – also known as matte.
Satin Finish – also known as eggshell or low-luster.
Gloss Finish – also known as semi-gloss or high gloss.
  • Can you offer advice on how to choose a color?
Absolutely! This is our favorite part of the process. We offer a free color consultation and our experts will help you choose the right color that suits your style.
  • How long will the job take?
Each project is different but for a full house exterior we generally take around three to four days. A full house interior can take five to six days.
  • How quickly can an estimator get to my home?
We plan around your schedule but normally, we can get there in less than a week.
  • Can you paint the exterior of my home in the winter time?
In Atlanta, there is always an open window of warmth where we can get your exterior project finished. We can make it happen.
  • What is the benefit of working with you?
Our “Freeland Fundamentals” deliver confidence from color-to-completion. Unlike independent painters that may have issues keeping their crew on time and on budget, Freeland Painting manages expectations with our Freeland Fundamentals.
